Home in Place tenants are invited to a free family event in Newcastle NSW in the April school holidays.

Join us for Curious Minds: Bubbles & Blasts Science Show followed by interactive experiments where children can take part themselves. The session is designed for primary school aged children and their families and is not open to the general public.

What’s included

The morning begins with an action packed 30 minute science show exploring bubbles and liquid nitrogen.

Children will see:

  • Liquid nitrogen at –196°C freezing and transforming everyday objects
  • Giant shimmering bubbles made with oversized bubble wands
  • Mini air rockets blasting into the air

After the show, families can move through hands on science stations with activities including:

  • Physics experiments
  • Chemistry activities
  • Coding and robotics

Time: 9:45am arrival for a 10:00am start, finishing at 12:00pm

Location: The Base Health and Community Centre, Newcastle West

Cost: Free!!

Children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event. Parking is limited, so public transport is recommended.

The event is delivered by the University of Newcastle’s SMART Program in partnership with Home in Place’s Grow a Star program, with support from the Port of Newcastle.
