Glossary of Terms
This table includes a selection of key terms frequently used throughout our tenancy and housing policies. The full glossary, with all terms and definitions used in our policies, is available in the PDF linked below.
| TERM | DEFINITION |

| Tenancy | A legal agreement that gives a person the right to live in a property owned by another, usually in exchange for rent. |
| Social housing | Housing funded or partly funded by government and managed by public or community organisations, available to eligible people. |
| Community housing | Non-profit housing for low- to moderate-income households, managed by community organisations. |
| Transitional housing | Short-term social housing designed to help people stabilise their circumstances before moving into long-term accommodation. |
| Affordable housing | Housing that is offered at below-market rent for eligible people, often key workers or low-to-moderate income earners, typically managed by community housing providers. |
| SDA (Specialist Disability Accommodation) | Housing designed for people with extreme functional impairment or very high support needs, funded under the NDIS and built to meet specific design standards. |
