Thank you to everyone who applied for our 2025 Green Thumbs program. Once again we were overwhelmed with the response, receiving nearly 400 applications! Expressions of interest have now closed, and we’re excited to see the creative gardening projects that will soon come to life. Successful applicants will be notified from mid October 2025.
Home in Place is relaunching our Green Thumbs program this spring to help tenants refresh their green spaces.
The first round of Green Thumbs was a great success, with tenants using the funding to grow vegetables, plant colourful natives and flowers, and create thriving community gardens. These projects not only brightened homes but also brought neighbours together and strengthened community connections.
This spring, Green Thumbs is focusing on simple projects that make an immediate difference. Tenants can apply for support to grow spring vegetables, add colour with flowers or natives, or bring more greenery indoors.
Expressions of interest open on 19 September 2025 and close on 3 October 2025. Successful applicants will be notified from 16 October, with grants rolled out shortly after.
Looking ahead
We’ll be seeking expressions of interest in autumn next year for larger garden projects and community gardens. This will give plenty of time to plan and get ready for the following spring.
