More than 60 people came together at the 123 Community Hub last Thursday for a successful Community Day hosted by Home in Place.

Originally planned as a tenant forum, the event was expanded to include the broader community and the response was fantastic.

Held on 24 July, the day offered a free lunch, giveaways and the chance to connect with local support services. There were also information sessions, activities for kids, and plenty of friendly conversation.

A highlight for many was the visit from NSW Fire and Rescue, who brought along a fire truck for children to explore.

Attending services included:

The 123 Community Pantry was also open on the day, giving visitors the chance to access low-cost groceries and household essentials. You can read more about the Pantry and its impact in Broken Hill here.

“We loved it. Had such a great time. Shopped there first… great bargains. Yummy free lunch and wonderful people from there, Mission Australia, fire rescue and others,” said one attendee.
“We thank you all so so much for your support, generosity and care. Love you all.”

Thank you to everyone who came along, participated, and helped make the day such a success.

We look forward to seeing you at the next one!
