From 29 April 2022, Compass Housing Services became Home In Place.

Compass Housing was a big winner at the Australian Housing Institute’s 2021 Brighter Futures Awards with four staff receiving jurisdictional awards in December.

International Business Development Manager Dr Bernadette Pinnell, took out the Executive Excellence Award, one of six awards presented in New Zealand.

The other three staff members were among 12 winners who took out NSW Awards. Executive Manager of Social and Environmental Sustainability Jandy McCandless was named Inspirational Team Member of the Year. Group Chief Strategic Engagement Officer Professor David Adamson OBE took out the Outstanding Achievement Award, and Together Home Coordinator Carrie Bock took out the Future Leader Award.

The four Compass staff members and winners from other jurisdictions will now vie for the national awards to be announced at the AHURI National Housing Conference in Melbourne on March 2, 2022.

Compass Housing’s Group Managing Director Greg Budworth congratulated the Compass Housing team members and the other winners.

“At Compass we have exceptional people who are committed to our vision of  all people having appropriate and affordable shelter and are engaged in sustainable communities,” Mr Budworth said..

“Providing quality social and affordable housing and other support is a key way to ensure a brighter future for our tenants and the broader community.”

Since 2004, the Brighter Futures Awards have recognised individuals, teams and projects that have made a significant and lasting difference to tenants or service users, to their community, their colleagues and profession.

The Australian Housing Institute educates, empowers and inspires people to unite and support the social, affordable and community housing sector across Australia and New Zealand.
